Prodrive Performance Package 4 MY '99
#1
Hi guys,
I have the following question:
The PPP for MY 99, is it covered in the 3 years warranty? (if it insn't, then why is it so expensive ???)
I live in Belgium and here the dealers all have their story ( some say it is and some say it isn't).
Has anyone of you guys opted for the PPP, does it do much ???
Thanks for clearing it up!
Greetings
Dino

Hi,
The PPP does not affect your 3 year warranty, assuming your warranty over there is the same over here.
It does make a big difference to the driveability of the car, and torque between 2250 rpm to say about 4,000 compared to the standard car is enormous, and above 4,000 rpm there seems to be a worthwhile improvement. You do have to run it on super unleaded 98 Ron say Prodrive (its an issue here because Super unleaded is about 10/15 pence per litre more than regular unleaded 95 Ron). Having said that I have accidentally filled up with 95 Ron before, and the difference in performance was not as significant as your might expect.

dino, here in the uk the dealers and Im want you to buy prodrive (they get a cut of the profits) and it is supposed to keep the warranty intact!!.
I dont know about European dealers though you could tell them that the U.K. Importer states that the warranty would be honoured if fitted.
I think this is right but others could confirm it.

Dino,
I would check this out with Subaru Belgium, they should have a warranty department who can give you a definitive answer. It may even be worth getting it in writing, but get the person's name at least. The PPP includes a rear box, which I presume will be surplus to requirements as you have a Scoobysport as I recall. I know that you are also considering a PE upgrade and this would definitely invalidate your warranty.
