Try this first.
Unscrew the gear ****, and remove the the plastic trim (2 screws).
Hacksaw the top of the gear lever off, leaving 1/4" of thread.
Use electrical tape to pack out the area just below the remaining thread.This will stop the **** from moving.
Re-assemble.
If you decide to change to an 'after market' gear **** (allen key fittment) the lever can be reduced further.
This works very well, and should save you about £250.
Mark.

failing that Ive fitted a ggr on they look terribly over priced for what they are just ,the standard lever with the selector mount welded in a differance place cost around £80 +v.a.t made the world of differance though after driving a friends without it felt like changing gear in a bus

If u're thinking of a genuine replacement, it's cost quite a bit. But it's better. Just becareful of one thing...U have to get used to the shifting b4 trying to do the McRae thing. Otherwise, U may just drop into wrong gear n gears will break. Cheers.
