I am having a bit of trouble finding 3rd gear in my MY93 WRX. It has done 50000 miles. It was fine before but it has been standing largley unused for 4 months and now I have trouble finding 3rd gear. Once in third it works fine and does not slip or anything but I have to be rather careful putting it into gear or it doea not engage properly. Anyone had any experience of this? Anyone know any cheap fixes I could try? Could it be anything to do with the fact it has been standing for a while?

Any help or suggestion swould be more than apprieciated.

Gearbox probs - usual prob more like for scoobs!!!!
Something will be worn or knackerd, poss. syncro thats the usual prob. I have trouble getting into 2nd and reverse because i have worn syncros for those. I just had quote for the repair of £280 labour plus syncro costs about £50 including VAT

Someone with bit more know how will giv u a definate answer but the problem sounds familiar!
