Anyone running a td05 fe with a dawes and H&S open necked downpipe? How does your boost tail away at high revs?
Mine increases, not decreases, by .05 bar between 5 and 6k with a target of 1.3 bar. Trying to ascertain what normal behaviour is.
Thanks, Richard

Yeah, just wondered what others have found - I've just run an open pipe between turbo and wastegate as a first step and will see tomorrow. I had no problem with ecu or AVC controlling it.

Richard,
On mine with the wastegate fully open,it would make 0 boost to around 5000rpm were it would go up to 1,5bar !!!!!
I ported the wastegate a bit and i could keep it at 1,2bar,wich works fine as i run it to 1,4bar.
This is with a dawes and a openneck DP

Weird - 'cos I never had a problem previously. I can only run ~1.1bar at the redline bacause of stock injectors (but am about to fit an uprated FPR anyway to fix very variable fuel fuel pressure......so could afford to run a bit more at the top end anyway ).
Connecting turbo and wastegate together gives, at 6k, ~1 bar in 3rd and 1.3 bar in 4th!
Will wire wastegate open tonight to confirm - I'm still hoping for a dodgy actuator. Why didn't I have this problem previously? I have never run more than 1.2 bar at the redline previously, and more normally 1.15 - this using an AVC-R or factory control.

Wired open wastegate also gives ~1.2 bar at 6k5 in 4th....bugger.
I'd like to understand what has caused this? I used to happily run, with an AFR of around 11.5:1, 1.15 bar at the redline slowly tapered down from 1.5 in the midrange.
I then changed fuel maps to ~10.6:1 to get around a serious fuel pressure issue I currently have. Would the richer map cause this?
Will now fit the SX and see whether 4 bar atmo pressure is enough to run 1.3 bar to the redline on 440's....
Thanks, Richard
