I'm just about to buy a Hayward and Scott downpipe, but they offer two versions, one with a splitter (dwin dump principle) and a normal open neck.
Any ideas on which one?

Naturally they do both, however many people out there say there is a big difference with a splitter in the downpipe (of which I have one on my car)
Though without flowing the gases I wouldn't be able to tell the difference of having & not having one on the car. I personally have not seen the difference though many customers swear by it....

H&S Hadn't tested for differences IIRC at last group buy, but I got a splitter one, and the spool up / torque seems better than just a wide mouth downpipe.
Techy stuff, splitter seperates the two gas streams so reduces turbulence further so smoother / better flow, and as is well known, gas speed varies in inverse proportion to diameter of pipes, so here we have a smallish wastegate pipe and a larger exhaust pipe, not just a massive hole for all to share.
Similar to the Janspeed dual vortex exhaust manifolds ( for some normally aspirated cars, circa mid 80's ).
