Gearbox how much torque can it take ?

I was planning to get my STI 5 as near 400lb of torque as i could.
After talking to a couple of folk i believe that the gearbox will not last long at anything more than 370lb ?
So what are my options ? don't want a dog box (had the 1st GTI-R in UK with a 1st & 2nd PAR dog box, great piece of kit just not wife or everyday friendly) so looking for a synchro set thats up to the job.

Both Harvey's and my Sti gearbox's have so far stood up with this level of torque both 25000 miles plus), my centre viscous diff has given up though and that is the weakest link, Harvey also uprated his centre diff.
