Dissapointing power figures
MY97 UK, Full decat, Dawes at 1.2bar midrange tailing off to 1bar at the top, K&N induction kit, Forge VTA, Samco hoses.
Surely that spec should be worth 260bhp? I had it dyno'd at Powerstation at the weekend and got 233.5 bhp and 211 lb-ft torque. I had a bit of a missfire at the top end and was advised to re-gap my spark plugs to 0.7mm, which I did yesterday (they were at 0.8mm). The car feels a bit better, but not massively so. Would the slight misfire result in such low readings? I know PS's rollers are known for reading low compared to other rollers, but surely with my spec I should have got higher figures than the ones I got?
Here's the graph:

That is the farce of rolling roads though.... is the intake air temperature really >50C or is it a crutch to support the fact that the real IAT is about 20C but the cooling on the rollers is so poor that the charge temperature post intercooler reaches 30C hotter than it would on the road?
Rolling roads are supposed to be for mapping zones to best torque with minimum ignition timing, getting the right combo of fuel, timing and boost. There are too many variables to be able to sensibly put a car on one and expect the absolute value to be anywhere near accurate. Similar specs of cars (eg decat MY99 and 00 UK cars no other mods - separated by year) vary by an average of 17% between the highest and lowest reading UK rolling roads.
Pinch of salt nothing more.

Can't tell there is nothing wrong with the car but Powerstation does read very conservatively. What a standard car will get on some rollers will take decat/hoses and boost controller on others.
Every car that I've taken to PS has been spot on for power , my Accord type R is rated at 212bhp , power on the rollers 209.5 . With my STI2 rated at 275 bhp on the rollers 277 . Perhaps people should not reed too much into rolling roads and enjoy the cars power as it is on the road .
Drexel were you happy with the performance before you knew the rolling road figures ? if you where then don't worry about it .

Yes I was/am happy with the performance, it's much quicker than Standard Scoobs, by a bigger margin than 233bhp would suggest. 233bhp is just a dissapointing figure, I was expecting more judging by the way it feels on the road, that's all.
There have been a few scoobs on here that have gone to PE's RR and got around 260hp, then with the same mods, gone to Powerstation and got in the 230s.
As John says, Powerstations's RR gives conservative figures.
Cheers,
George.
