hi all,
firstly i would like to thank all the scooby/non scooby people out there for recent help.
ok here goes.
I have a 97 uk standard 2000 turbo, i have only had it a few weeks very happy with it here comes the but,
i was just woundering if it is normal that if i drop it down into thrid gear at around 70 mph i get a very slight crunch of the gear as if it is saying no no no to fast for that gear,it is fine at 60mph but of course you havenot got quite the same pull at 60mph
all the other gears feel fine.and it do go into all gears ok as well.it will take a drop into secound gear at 40mph no worrys,
It has done 89000 with a FSSH and has been very well looked after.
am i expecting to much.
also while i am on the subject of asking to much, what sort of mods can i do and bhp can i expect before i start going into the unreliabilty stakes, as i use my car daily and need it to be reliable
thanks in advance for all your replies

I'm afraid the synchro is going on 3rd.

Happened to both my scoobies, but fixed under warranty. It will get worse over time, 70 crunch will become 60 then 50 over 2 or 3 months.

Sorry to sound so miserable, but that's life.

If you haven't got an extended warranty, you'd best find a good gearbox man.

On a happier note, mods are easy if you have a few bob, decat and remap will give you 270/280hp and a lovely noise, but get some better brakes if you do.....
