had ppp fitted some months ago & was hitting 1.32 bar.

changed filter to a ramair ( fitted by dealer) & now best i can get is 1.23
recently went on r/road & 1st run boost dropped right off at 5300.
2nd run was normal ( 6300 & then slow drop) but the figures were down on what it should be.

could this be filter related or is it coincidence.

am thinking of changing to green.

dave.

Don't bother, just put the std paper filter back in. All you are doing is wasting money and risking your warranty for no measurable gain.

Do a search on RamAir, I recently read a post that stated that it (RamAir panel filter) flows less air that the standard paper filter.
This could explain why your car is running out of puff!!

Filter element is meaningless waste of money - no gains to be had.

I had an issue with my PPPd car not hitting the right level of boost after a few months of use. Dealer claimed to fix it by resetting ECU (very dubious about that) but it has now settled at around 1.25 bar held.

never liked "ram air" filters and probably never will, but on these engine, not much point in replacing the standard item, it serves its purpose, and as previously stated, no harm to the vehicles warranty, so why not save money rather than blowing it away, save it for the fuel tank !!
