My hill climb STi V3 clutch is starting to slip after 2 very hard seasons of hill climb starts (5000 rpm, dump the clutch)Not bad for an original stock STi clutch?
I fancy the Lateral Perf organic assembly as car is road driven too. Any of you drag racers (etc) out there have a view on this?
Friend has an AP organic and it is great, so any advice greatfully received!
Graham.

Yes, the Lateral Perv clutch will do the job nicely, as will the AP organic or paddle or a Std Subaru replacement.
I have tried all 4 for drag racing and can't say I noticed much difference between the 3 organic plate type , the Lateral one had a lighter pedal than the others, grip level seemed similar ie during really hard launches, all 3 would slip before bogging the engine down.
The AP Paddle was not nice to drive round town but great for 6k WOT dumps off the line (BANG go the gearboxes)

I'm currently running a Std Subaru (my99) replacement friction disc under a std Sti cover with no slip on 380+lb-ft torque.

Andy

PS I have an AP 4 paddle and an Exedy alloy cover 6 paddle clutch for sale if you want to launch really hard

Cool

Thanks for the feedback. Whats with all the boxes going Bang?
I've thrashed this car to death on the starts, 5000 and dump the clutch with sticky Kumho V70A's and all is well after 2 seasons. Mind you I use the clutch to change gear too, maybe that's why I'm slow?
Thinking of the Lateral gear set too, any thoughts?
Graham.
