There is no one "best" oil. However, there are a few good ones. If you choose Motul 300V 15w/50, Mobil 1 Motorsport 15w/50, Castrol RS 10w/60, Silkolene Pro-S 10w/50, you can sleep safe in the knowledge that your engine will be as well protected as possible. There are no doubt others.
The only exceptions to this are with new cars (less than around 5-10,000 miles), where running a full synthetic oil can promote bore glazing. In these circumstances, it's preferable to run a semi-synth (Motul 200V 10/40, Mobil Super 10/40 etc.) until everything has run in fully.
The most important considerations with oil aren't actually which one is best, it's making sure that it's changed frequently enough (around 3-4000 miles ideally, even more often if you track it), that a good quality filter is used, and that the optimal change procedure is followed (look here).
