I know its probably been done a million and 1 times but as it says above which is best???( i have tryed the search but it says i need my 'cookies' enabled????? whatever this is)

There is no one "best" oil. However, there are a few good ones. If you choose Motul 300V 15w/50, Mobil 1 Motorsport 15w/50, Castrol RS 10w/60, Silkolene Pro-S 10w/50, you can sleep safe in the knowledge that your engine will be as well protected as possible. There are no doubt others. :)

The only exceptions to this are with new cars (less than around 5-10,000 miles), where running a full synthetic oil can promote bore glazing. In these circumstances, it's preferable to run a semi-synth (Motul 200V 10/40, Mobil Super 10/40 etc.) until everything has run in fully.

The most important considerations with oil aren't actually which one is best, it's making sure that it's changed frequently enough (around 3-4000 miles ideally, even more often if you track it), that a good quality filter is used, and that the optimal change procedure is followed (look here).

im using Mobil 1 Motorsport 15w/50 and always have !!
its not cheep but its the blood of a very expensive engine
