Have an MY00 at the mo and she needs a new clutch. Was going to put an AP organic clutch on and buy a lightened flywheel. First is this sensible? Second any advice on where to get the flywheel from and how much for it. I gather the Roger Clarke motorsport one is 6kg and supposed to be quite good- can anybody give me feedback on this flywheel or others including price?

What sort of power are you running?

standard then stick with subaru clutch

upto 330 ibs ft/torque Helix Sports Clutch

Over 330 then AP Organic or Paddle (not ideal for heavy traffic)

Running prodive ECU and backbox so probably 245ish but will be adding new downpipe and decat centre.

Any advice on flywheels?

would suggest as previously said, stick to standdard flywheel as no major internal engine mods done, otherwise you wont have enough rotating mass to keep the engine turning over and it may well run uneven if fitted. Changing on a standard unit may not create anything other than a hole in your wallet.
Lightened flywheels are only usually fitted where the crank/piston/rods are changed/modified so require a quicker rpm lift from a lighter flywheel.

How much are the Helix sports clutches and where would I buy one?

we offer lightened / re-faced flywheels and they DO offer a benefit on a std car......most noticeably during acceleration and at around 8kgs there is no downside to idle, etc.........
could also sort you the Helix / AP / etc.........

I have got an aluminium flywheel with a Helix organic clutch. The flywheel weighs 4 kg which makes a noticeable difference to the acceleration. The clutch is very good indeed. I have no problems with the light flywheel. Tickover and slow running is just as before the change and it does not take long to get used to letting the clutch in to set off. I don't even notice a problem in that respect. Power Station can supply the flywheel which is well made and with a steel face of course.
