Iam having trouble removing the front driveshafts on my93 WRX Turbo Import (saloon).Do you need a special tool or something. The engine is removed but gearbox still fitted.Any help would be great.

Should be a roll pin through the gearbox side of the CV joint. Punch this out and the CV joint and driveshaft should come offf the g'box complete.

Don't get the punch stuck in the CV join though, just ask david wallis about that one

I thought the rears were the same but never removed them.

I found a 4inch nail with the point cut off the perfect fit for the roll pins

The fronts have pins..

But I just crawled underneath the rear and no pins and the driveshaft ends are slightly different.

Whether they just pull off once you have removed the other end and the hubs I dunno?
