I've just blown my second engine in as many months due to the pressure sensor hose splitting. I'm positive it's the piston, but as soon as my engine hoist arrives, I can confirm that.

Anyway, I am looking for advice on what I should do, to maintain some reliability, with a 300+ (95 WRX Type R engine).

I would think, uprating the conrods and pistons, should be the ideal route, but I'm unsure if anything else would need to be done at the same time (except a rebore). I don't want to spend too much money though. The posts that I've read on here (lots and lots) seem to suggest using forged pistons, but I'm not sure what else should be done.

I've done most things already, and will do some other things while the engine is out too.

So far: blitz induction kit, full 3" decat exhaust, scoobysport up-pipe, uprated fuel pump, uprated fpr, lightened flywheel, uprated clutch and pressure plate, apexi boost avcr, apexi power fc (although running type r ecu at moment), various other minor mods.

In process of porting headers.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
