No boost??
#1
Any ideas on why im only managing to get very little if any boost? It all seemed to got to pot when I noticed the upipe had cracked. Changed that and still no luck!
I am running an Apexi boost controller, tried all different settings (including the off setting) and still no luck. Even when I pull the actuator pipes off I only manage very small boost pressure.
Please help

might be obvious- checked your MAF sensor?
I did and it solved my erratic (read barely existent boost)
sensor is around £70 from a sympathetic dealer.
part no is on one of many MAF threads.

Hmm, with the actuator disconnected, you should be getting half a bar or so.
Is the up-pire definitely on right? I know it's a pretty obvious thing to notice, but...
How about the connection from compressor outlet > intercooler & intercooler > manifold? The turbo might be spinning its wheels of & the boost just, well, not doing anything really apart from escaping . I suspect the intercooler & hosing will have come off in the uppipe fitting, so worth checking.

I am managing to get around half a bar with the actuator pipes off. But I was running around 1.4 -1.5 bar before I had this problem. Its a V29 Turbo with a front mount intercooler. I put the original top mount back on to eliminate any problem with leaking pipes/connections, it made it no better!!

Ok - half a bar with the actuator looped-over thing (err, crack pressure, then ) means all is probably ok mechanically. I'd point my finger at your boost controller, as I have no idea how it works
Here endeth any helpfulness I might have been

Am I able to put my boost guage on to the pipe which the actuator pipe connects to on the outlet side of the turbo. Would this show what pressure was coming straight off the turbo?
What pipes sholud I try cleaning which go to the solinoids? If One of the solinoids is faulty would this stop the car boosting?
Surely the turbo should push far more than half a bar with the actuator pipes off? The boost controller isnt controlling anything when I do that?

With no pipes to the actuator at all? Not in old-style boost-controlled actuator? Should just slam into fuel cut, AFAIK.
Should have read that better earlier, sorry
Hmmm.
Still no help from me, I'm afraid

Ok thanks for your help evey1!!!!
Sorted the problem today, put a set of mole grips on the actuator to stop it moving and we had the boost back!!
O and big thanks to Tunning Japanese for all the bull sh*t they tried to tell me on the phone again!!
