Fitted FMIC - Do I blank off the scoop or not?

I don't fancy all the water, flies etc having unrestricted access to my engine bay now that I've fitted a FMIC and am tempted to block off the scoop. My worry is the build up of air pressure in the scoop which has nowhere to go while on the move - will it be a problem? Some people also mention the change made to the airflow through the radiator and engine bay due to blocking off the scoop (I have refitted my undertray) but if the car didn't have the intercooler where it is then it wouldn't have the scoop anyway. I don't really fancy fitting a Sport bonnet and I definitely will not reverse the scoop... Anybody??

Rather than making something to duct the air on the turbo have a look at the scoop from a old legacy turbo.
Its smaller and has the ducting to put the air just in the right place.
I doubt it would be a direct replacement without a bit of fiddling but you never know your luck.

Testing at Bruntingthorpe proved that charge air temperatures increase significantly if the scoop is either removed or blocked off, leave in place for maximum cooling effect on charge temperatures.

It will probably be best to rotate it at 180 degrees if u dont mind everyone knowing that u have a fmi?
U ll have less drag (check how bonnet lifts under high speed)and get rid of lots of engine bay heat.

I mucked about with this a bit.
I didn't flip the scoop round, but blocking it off raised the temps, and additionally removing the ducting thingy (the bit with the squishy rubber thing to seal onto the ex-TMIC) seemed to reduce temps a little more. That's in general, rather than around the turbo, though (all oil temps).
There may be an Evo-style bonnet for the scoob around at some point in the future, which could be interesting
