Hi guys,
I've come across a wierd one here, basically I've got an Afterburner from the "For Sale" section. It came off an STi V4 Type R, I have an Sti V5.
Now when I take my standard Sti backbox off, and place the afterburner in the rubbers, it is about 3-4inches short of the center pipe (standard sti)..
on a closer inspection the afterburner's diameter (center pipe end) is 3"
the sti center looks 2.5"
am i missing something here?
do i need a 3" system ?? im very confused why it's short... could it be damaged in transit?
cheers,
simon.

That's ok - 3" & 2.5" should be 'interchangeable' & it's just the tube diameters that are different. Obviously, this isn't a good thing if you've a step from 3" to 2.5", but the other way round, as you have, doesn't matter.
My Afterburner is 3" - flows seriously well because of it
But the length thing is a bit trickier!

Has it got a slip joint or a flange if it has slip joint it will only fit our centre. The reason behind the slip joint is give keep the ground clearance at maxium. Have you got a picture of it ??
