Guy's, I did a track day today, took the dawes off, just to be on the safe side, but after a few good laps, the car started to loose boost, to the point where I had none, so, I slowed for a few laps, which helped, so I figured it was just getting too hot, back in the its, took the under tray off, and the little bonnet vents, and also reset the ecu, went back out, good for a few laps, then same again, checked all the pipes, nothing wrong, so, I refitted the dawes, but opened it up a bit, and it was fine all afternoon, any ideas what could have been happening, the odd thing is, the cel never came on once, I dunno, maybe you do!!

All opinions gratefully recieved,

Ron.

ps, apart from this, a good day was had, 145 miles, and 18 gallons of fuel later..........

What MY car? If new-age, may have been advance multiplier hitting zero due to det (or what the ecu thinks is det - not always the same thing....). This has the effect of shutting down boost to protect engine. Fitting the dawes removes this safety/PITA feature.

I'd get DeltaDash on it to check.

I have had exactly the same simptoms on track days in my UK MY00 turbo and would appricate an opinion on this too... I run shell optimax with octaine booster on track to get a high RON level (help reduce det)

Mine also hesitates / fails to boost sometimes when pulling out of TIGHT hairpins, thoughts??

Right, been a bit busy,
The car is a my00, with full decat, the wierd thing about this was that whilst sometimes it wasn't boosting at-all, at others it would hit 1.5bar!! never got fuel cut, but didn't want to drive like that, so I put the dawes back on to avoid the aggro!
All help appreciated!

Ron.

check the manual boost controller for damage which results in loss of pressure, check dump valve for loose fitting, on hot days u get lower bosst because the intercooler and induction works less efficiently!

Having been out last night, it is still playing silly bu66ers, even with the dawes, the boost is all over the place, and it feels as if the ignition is well retarded, so, what I'm gonna do, is remove the dawes, and do another reset and hope all is then well, if not, I'm snookered!
