What power gain are you looking for? Other mods? How much lag are you prepared to put up with? How much risk to breaking the gearbox? Are you planning a FMIC? What about the fuel system?

You can get more than one TD05 for that sort of money !!

TD05 from breakers £250
Service kit £ 100
Front entry casing £ 70
Someone to do the above assembly for you ?? £70

= Bullet proof turbo with 350 bhp potential for under £500

Andy

Andy - those prices, is that just for a front entry TD05? Your TD05/06 beast is a bit more isnt it? But worth it

Andy,

Where can you get a front entry casting from and any pictures of one ?
I presume this is instead of using the 90 degree entry elbow or hacksawing it off the TD05 ?

Andy,

I've got someone interested in VF23 that I have that needs a new core. He is asking about the posibility of using the front and rear housings of the VF23 on the TD05, to make it FE as such with a 20G rear housing. Is that possible?
Sorry if that's a daft question but I realy dont know enough about turbos yet

Money - The 06 upgrade also involves machining work to the centre housing, a new compressor wheel and cover, also a new wastegate actuator mount and linkage. Parts alone for this cost an additional £280 and need to be imported.

Mark - There are a number of suppliers including Turbo dynamics, Owen developments and one I'm not allowed to name without a banner ad

Scoty - The parts from VF's and TD's are not interchangeable, they could theoretically be machined to fit but it would not be worth the hassle IMO.
What boost were you running the VF at for it to destroy itself anyway ?

Thought it was a bit more from your emails. Definitely worth it though

I ran my 23 at 1.4 bar (20 psi) for months no worries.....1.5 bar (22 psi) broke a compressor blade very quickly

Richard - Everything is bigger in Scotland even our PSI's

Money - The price emailed you was outright (deduct £250 if you have a servicable condition donor TD05)

Andy

Fit a set of Gruppe-s headers and you will get the same power but at only 19-20 psi.............which is nice
