Help wiring new O2 sensor in

Finally managed to get an o2 sensor. It has a different plug than the std one, I was expecting this as I read on an old post somewhere that the plugs were different.
Anyway, as you can see the problem I have is matching the colours up.
Anyone know how they go?.
Also is it ok to cut these wires and join them?
New O2 sensor plug, note 1,2,3, don't know if this is of significance?.

I did this recently on my car, but the wires were the same colour (mine is a MY00) what MY is yours ?
I cut the connector off both Sensors, and joined em up, and tried my best to solder them together (no mean feat, as the solder does NOT want to stick to the wires) I believe John Banks had this problem with solder too

You want to join the white wire on the orginal sensor to the black on the new... this is the signal wire. The black and red are the heater positive and negative on the orginal, these are the white wires on the new one. Doesn't matter which way round they go.
I got a universal one for £26, this came with the some crimp connections (with solder in the middle) and some heat shrink tubing. Where did you get that from.... i take it it's not a universal sensor as it's already got a plug on it.

I bought a universal one and used the old connector, just soldered the new wire in place. Took about an hour in total, but looks like the orginal. The heater wires, white on the sensor and red & Black on the loom, don't think it matters which orientation they are, as its just a heater. The other wire is the signal wire which be rapped to protect it so it does not earth.

correct me if im wrong, but the black is the signal to ecu,
therefor black goes to black and the two white wires on the new sensor go to red and white.(these are the heaters and it does not matter which way round they are connected.
worth double checking

white is signal wire on old sensor.
If you want peace of mind, get a multi meter and connect to red n black wires on car loom, switch ignition on and you should get 12-9v for a few secs.
This is because the voltage heats the lambda up for a few secs when you switch ign on.
Black to white
two whites to red n black, doesnt matter which way round.
