Witnessing a bit of noise selecting reverse and first. While running can hear a bit of a drone/rumble from the box. I understand that using Redline Shockproof gear oil may alleviate this problem. Is this correct, and where can i purchase it from, and how much should i fill the gearbox with? MY93 WRX Import

Cheers

think you'll need about 4 litres (long time since i did mine) Castrol Syntrax is equally as good for fixing poor changes etc. but Redline is good stuff and smells nice too

Nice one Kev, much appreciated. Wasn't sure which was better, the Castrol product or the Redline.

Is about £16 a litre right?

Desi - for a car of your age you might want to stop a little before 3.5 before you start checking. Maybe something like 3.2, and give it a few mins for the level to stabilise

Wink

I shall take your advice, and ensure i don't overfill the gearbox. i will let you know if the noise subsides after changing the oil. Thanks for the help team!! Much appreciated.
