Question

I run a std box with uprated panel filter.

I am reliably informed that a cone filter (oil based or not)would let a load of dirt in to the engine over time which is obviously bad.

What u runnin ??

I use the APS cold air induction kit (drags cold air from front wheel well)

But, TSL do a "green" panel filter that is supposed to flow more air than anything else around - but you'd need to speak to them about that

Just to remind you, you'll need a ECU remap if you want the APS induction on your car.

Yes. And it may cause the car to run lean.

Thumbs down

went from a ITG panel filter to K&N induction kit.

To be honest its a waste of money, you're better of removing the resonator in the RHS wing and feeding in a couple of cold air pipes and hey presto...

standard intake system with the standard spec STi air filter, it flows much more air than a UK turbo spec air filter. (it would have to as the UK doesnt rev to 8000rpm and produce 300PS out of the box )

Question

Gettin cold air forced in to the engine bay is a good move, but how many people actuley have their bonnet vent cover's removed so the warm air can escape from the engine bay ? I know mine are always on, and have been on my pulsar in the past too. How bout the rest of u ?

Many have removed the vent covers, and found that under-bonnet temps in the airbox area actually went up !

Open vents are also a bit of a pain when it rains.
