Thanks for the replies
Bit of contrasting advice, thats why im so confused, on most of the threads ive read everyone seems to have their own ideas about what you can and cant do.
Will try and track down this bloke from FC, cheers.
So am I right in saying I would need to have some remapping/ boost increase at the same time as fitting the FMIC, or Id just end up with a load of lag??
Also, these boost controllers, do they increase fueling, or just boost? Surely you cant have one without the other?
David, I have read lots of your posts and am certain that you know plenty on the subject! You do the ECU-TEC mods dont you? Is it possible on a 93WRX ecu?
Thanks again, Rob.
ps, hows your eye now matt

Hi,
Im thinking about fitting a FMIC to my car, but Ive been reading some of the threads and am now confused.
Current mods are, Gp A downpipe, Full decat 3" Gpower exhaust, Blitz SUS induction.
I know that my car has one of the larger turbos, but would it be up to the job, I dont want to liise performance!
I also realise that I will need a remap or something, can my ECU be remapped? or will I need a new aftermarket ECU?
Finaly, what kind of power gains may I see?
Thanks, Rob.

Not a lot of point getting one just yet, save your money and spend it on an electronic boost control, your intercooler is good for over 300bhp before you need to change it,on your standard 12 psi boost the lag will feel awfull but if you have money to spend get a good ecu like motec or link it will transform your car.

A new ECU is a good idea, but I would strongly suggest you get a better intercooler as well, even if it is only an STI5 top mount!
Your current Top mount will not do the job to well once you start going over 1.1Bar.... I have a 93WRX and was advised by many in the know to upgrade the Intercooler before I try to run to much boost!

Will try and track down this bloke from FC, cheers.
First of all he has a PACE FMIC so read some of the reviews on that in the search engine.
Please dont talk to him though cause Paz at FC doenst know what he is talking about. He thinks the standard 93 wrx has 280bhp? And all imports are 280 or more???
Keep to scoobynet, their is loads of info to pick up

The list of FMICs that you can fit without modification isn't as big as the post 97 cars. Basically because of the turbo inlet positioning.
Avo, HKS do ones to suit. If you want APS, Hyperflow etc your gonna have to do a bit of bodging (but nothing to bad). The Pace will fit. I think the concept behind this is very good, and remember that the Pace can't be that bad as it's seen well over 400bhp on one particular car. Which ever you go for your looking at vast improvements over the TMIC..... but ask yourself what your goals are. Currently im planning to run 19psi on the standard TMIC (with 440s, front entry TD05, remap etc etc may see 320bhp) but above this then IMHO a FMIC is a must. At over £1000 a go then make sure your not just wasting your money.
