Question

Just bought a Vf28 turbo of a P1. The only problem is can it be used with my current setup:
.ITG air filter
.Group A downpipe
.Decat centre pipe + Group N back box
.Standard '801' ecu

What kind of problems will I experience, and what sort of power will I be getting?
Do I need a Remapp?

Thanks to any one that can help.

Boost control will be the big issue. A Dawes is the cheapest way to fix this, but you should invest in knock/lambda links too to be safe.

To get the best from this set-up will require a remap, but once boost is controlled you'll see noticeable gains without.

Depending on the level of boost you want to run you'll need to raise the fuel cut too.

You should find a good performance improvement but do not cane it until the re-map is done.
There are a number of cheaper alternatives to the Dawes.

Thanks Harvey, I've looked at the valve. Is it difficult to install and set up?.

It might be worth comparing the spec's of the RS product's, to those of the Dawes, or similar "automotive" parts.

The max opperating temp of the parts are 60, and 80 degC, whilst the temp of the air from the tubo will be in excess of 100 degC.

Accuracy of +/- 20% of the set pressure would also seem a little high.

Mark.
