No improvements at all when i put in an uprated fuel pump and regulator in.

This isnt so much a modification for performance gains but more for getting your fuelling correct, if your running higher than normal boost for example.

If your going to get an uprated fuel pump, it may be worth considering getting a regulator with gauge.

These two modifications are now giving me "more" confidence that i'm not running lean under full boost conditions. I say "more" as i do not have an AFR meter to monitor if i'm running lean or rich.

Well said mate..
Personally i believe that they should be fitted as a safety option rather than a performance enhancing bolt on..
The general view is that std fuel pumps can struggle a bit and may be a cause of excess lean fuelling. An adjustable fuel reg also gives you the option of fine tuning the fuel pressure, which also comes in very handy if upgrading in the future.

The best thing to do is change the fuel pump and the FPR at the same time, there have been threads regarding the capability of the standard FPR when used with an uprated fuel pump.

The standard fuel pump was never much good to start with on the early cars so if your car is a few years old it's worth changing

If anything, you might be able to here a sweet buzzing noise if you are standing next to the fuel cap when the engine is running
