Quick question RE knock link

Just moved my knock link sensor (as I wasnt sure I had it in the right place - it was on the "red" part of the engine in an STi 5) I have now moved it onto the intercooler bracket i.e. replaced one of the bolts with a longer one, threaded through the knock link and then the braket, then the block (as that was a central part of the engine), is this OK, as I am not sure if the bracket will mask det (if there is any)
