Changed the Gearbox oil lastnight & found there to be a little metallic Paste stuck to the Gearbox plug, Should i be worried, There was no large particles. Also found a Biscity substance in the drip tray, Oh **** so thats where the end of my Boost Bar went
Oh yes replaced with GL5 75/90 Synthetic blend Stuff

Little bit of swarf is fine, a soft dome about 3/4inch oh high isn`t!!!!! This is how mine looked last night after stripping the box out!!!!!

A small smear is quite normal, lots of it, teeth or cogs is not

I previously posted a picture of a little dome of bits, a few months and 1.5 bar later third gear was no more.

I have wiped it off & never took a picture, But i will keep you posted, By no means am i running as much power as you (281.4 last R&R. Have to mention the .4 as its nearer to 282 than 281)
Reason i changed it was that 2nd was tight on cold mornings. But if third goes south shortly you were right.

Taking the box off at the weekend to replace the clutch.. will be drainng box and will try and remember to take a picture of the swarf / bits etc.. currently 124500miles on the clock..
