timing belt
#1
Hi
I want to change my timing belt next weekend and am not sure where to get one from. The car is a 98 sti V4 and has only done 35k.
I also want to replace the crank seal and camshaft seals as i have a leak from behind the cover but we are not sure where the oil is comiing from as it has spread everywhere.
Is there anything else I should change while at it i.e tensioner etc. I am going to change the a/c belt and p/s belt at the same time
Are these items the same as the uk models cars or are the sti ones different and if so where is the best place to get them
Cheers

They are the same parts as used on UK cars and any decent Subaru parts company should have all of these parts in stock
You may also talk a Subaru dealer into selling them to you

You can get the Routes / Roots I think it is belts which is the people that supply Subaru I believe..
Failing that you could 'borrow' someones UK chassis number to enable you to buy a cam belt from a dealer..
It will be the crank seal leaking I suspect.. they are only available from the dealer and are about £12 if I recall.
Cambelt is also about £110 from the dealer... ouch... I believe only £40 from non-Subaru..
