Unhappy

PLEASE HELP!!!!

My garage cant fit my new engine to my 1999 "V" WRX Import- as all wirng accessories are different on the new ones inlet manifold, and the old manifold is slightly shorter, has different shaped inlets, & fixings.

The engine suppliers say bolt all my old stuff onto the new block but it just wont fit.

IS this 2nd engine even from an impreza, or could it be from a legacy???

Any Help???

Old inlet is post 98 car, new inlet is pre 98 car.

I would hazard a quess that if the new inlet fits the new engine, then you may have a pre 98 engine.

i had that shape inlet (your new one) on an older engine... its not a UK spec engine is it??

new engines have 1 coil pack, old have 4.

It is deffo not a legacy, i have had a bit of experience with legacy engines over the last few days (w@nkers sold me one instead of WRX) and you can tell by twin bolt coil packs...

There dosen't seem to be a coil pack on the new engine (which looks like its probaly really OLDER)

Can it Be Fitted?

did the supplier not ask for engine codes or chassis number,i would ask for the right model engine for the car as in my experience this type of thing always turns in to a bodge to make it fit,and will seriously affect the resale value.

Your engine is a phase two impreza engine.... the replacement is a pre97 phase 1. The inlet manifold will not fit, ISCV is totally different, wiring for the tps is totallt different etc etc. It really would be a big ball ache to get any joy out of this. Get them to take it back.

Tony.
