blitz sbc gadgetry advice

I am considering a blitz sbc type s/r or sbc id and have a few questions. Does it replace the boost solenoid as mine is knackered and bypassed with the dawes and a capacitor/resistor (can't remember which) to stop the cel light. As it is a boost controller I take it the dawes is no longer needed. The type S goes to 18 psi and I am looking at a remap etc next year. As I want a remap am I wasting my money with the sbc. Will the sbc type r which has a higher boost be usable above fuel cut or would I still need a fcd and or remap. Generally quite a lot of help needed. Anyone with one of these have good or bad comments. Oh yeah if I get the id meter with the power meter does the optional harness plug in via the ecu or is soldering needed.
