Does anyone have an API Turbo fitted to their Scoob.
Are they as good as they look?
What would be recommended for an STI 5 Type R?
My standard one is Goosed. Along with engine...AAAAAAAAAGH!!!

Might be worth thinking about your budget and power goals and deciding on the turbo with that in mind. Do you just want it safely back together with a little extra power and reliability or do you want to take the opportunity to build a monster?

H ave to cast around for prices John.
Would perhaps be looking around 400 HP mark 325Ft/lb. With complete reliability?LOL.
Would like to get your good self involved, to get the map sweet
Possible with standard ECU?

Standard ECU at present is not developed for over 550cc injectors, but these at raised fuel pressure would just meet your goals.
Gearboxes start breaking at this level quite quickly though on a lot of cars even if you are nice to them.

Andy and John
Thank you for your concerns. But Wife informs me its in my best interests,to go standard with minor mods
As she says Ambitions and ability shouldn't be mixed.
So it looks like it may me standard engine VF34 turbo?
Pace FMIC. (Already have Decat, K+N)
Sorry No Monsters to breed chaps.
Safe 320/280?(I know BORING).
What say you John?

Not heard of API. Are they a turbo reconditioning company?
You might be best trying to source an STi engine complete with heads and turbo.
Check the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, fuel injectors, MAF sensor and knock sensor on your old engine if you are not replacing them.
