TEK2 PLUS sports cat exhaust
#1
I am considering uprating performance on my MY00 Wagon, which has currently a TEK1, plus centre pipe, backbox and filter mods (250bhp). Has anyone any experience of the TEK2 fitted with the Power Engineering downpipe and centre sports cat? I would like to keep emissions legal if possible, and this seems a way to go without changing the downpipe every year at MOT time. Advice much appreciated.

I have had a sports cat on my 99MY UK turbo car for two years, and it has passed two MOTs.
Bear in mind that the cat is further from the engine, hence is cooler. This is a consequence of improving the spool up.
Unless you lag the exhaust, you need to take the car for a spin (to get the cat hot) before taking it for the MOT. Hot cats work better and produce better emissions.

I have a MY02 with an APS sports cat exhaust (cat in downpipe), de-cat up-pipe (not such an issue for you), ported headers, and a TEK 2. Works quite nicely - 284bhp and 272lbft.

Only just seen this post Krud. I have got the PE T75 turbo back system including the back box, free flowing cat in the centre pipe, and de-cat downpipe. The car is a MY 94 STI. I had no problem at all with the MOT emissions test.
