suddenly started getting a ticky/tappety? kinda noise coming from drievtrain somewhere.

you can hear it when car is stood still and idling then gets louder when start moving, by time get into 2nd gear its really loud BUT isnt there when clutch is pressed in.

i can still get all gears and drives ok, AA bloke advised me not to drive it so came home on the back of a trailer last night

ps. just recently my clutch (AP) was starting to judder and i was finding it difficult to select 1st, is this something to do with it?

any ideas???

cheers, peccy (MY00 UK Turbo)

Yep, as Dan says, clutch release bearing, it may be starting to break up, when the clutch release arm presses against it, it holds it all tight as it were, when you let go of the clutch, it rattles around all over the shop as it goes around with the clutch, causing the noise you here. Eventualy the bearing may seize and bores its way through the clutch diaphram with lots of noise ect!
