What 'boost controller'? & to run on what car (MY, JDM, etc.)
I'm guessing that this is a 'Dawes' at that price, but not sure?

If its a Dawes device be carefull, ie dont be greedy with to much boost, you will turn your pistons into molton blobs of alluminium!
Yes, they are very good if used carefully!

I forgot to mention why you can melt pistons. To increase boost on any turbo engine, you have to beable to provide extra fuel to suport the extra air being forced into the engine by the turbo, if you dont, dettonation will occur resulting in the above due to to lean a mixture. Your only talking about a couple of extra p.s.i without 'detting' and a costly rebuild. Used propperly they are good kit.

Of note a MY99/00 UK model used with a Dawes would provide enough fuel on the standard ECU and fuel system to keep it rich until beyond the point where you broke the turbo. Fuel is not really the main problem - you can have it very rich and still blow up from detonation, so ensuring correct AFR is only part of it and not really scratching where the engine is itching a lot of the time. The detonation is caused in this case primarily by high charge temperature and inappropriate ignition advance for this charge temperature and boost. The wastegate will to some degree save you from excessive exhaust gas back pressure by being blown open with the standard actuator.
