Angry

My MY99 has a little problem this evening. After some 'spirited' driving I couldn't select any gears. I then parked up for 1/2 hour and it was fine until some more 'spirited' (Although far less than before) driving and then all I could get was 2nd gear!!

Any ideas? Is it the gearbox overheating? If so why? Is it perhaps the oil? What oil do you recommend?

Thanks,
Ian

Scooby-Dooby,
There seems to be plenty of bite on the clutch, even when using just second gear!

I thought about the clutch too, but it doesn't even attempt to go into the other gears (No grinding noise!)

Cheers,
Ian

Question

Going to check tomorrow (When I have some light!)

Never looked at it before. Is it a case of fill it until it's spilling out, or is there some dipstick type device?

There is a dipstick next to the turbo. Look carefully as the oil is thin and it's hard to see.

Thanks for that! Is the filler in the engine bay too?

fill box via the dipstick hole. use a funnel to make life easier as it isnt in the most convenient place, but dont pour too quick as it will flow over the funnel and go everywhere
