How do i change the gearbox oil in my MY97 scooby.

I have a slight crunching when i go from 3rd to 4th quickly and checking previous posts the first course of action is to use Castrol Syntrax gearbox oil.

Do i have to empty out old oil? If so How?
And where abouts to i add the new oil?

Any help appreciated

There's a big drain plug on the bottom of the box. It's magnetic, so make sure you wipe the gear swarf off it before you put it back.

Fill the box up through the gearbox dip stick hole (I kid you not...)

Thumbs up

Remember and warm the new oil prior to putting it in... makes life a lot easier

Dont mean to sound Thick. But what do you mean 'warm the oil'.

Shall i stick it in a pan and warm it on the oven

Or just leave it in the sun for a while.

if you take it for a thrash b4 changing the g/box oil then pour in the new, the heat from the box & engine will thin out the oil 4 you b4 you drive off, just peace off mind that your oil has thinned out abit
