I have a P1 with the standard prodrive upgrades, exhaust, brakes, wheels, scooby on rear shelf and air filter. What I want to know is there a better air filter I can fit without causing any problems and is the ram air unit any good?

Any other suggestions on upgrades would be welcome too

The Ram Air filter isnt recommended on any MY99+ (P1 included) due to the MAF sensors getting gunged.....
The alternative is a "proper" STi air filter (foam i believe) which is available from scoobymania.

The Ram air filter was fitted by Subaru and was an upgrade option, is this right especially if it causes probs?

Also could only find the STI panel filter.

Slap your local dealer then as they shouldnt have fitted it (it was a standard item on the PPP for upto MY97).
Subaru UK wont cover any claims on this item (thus the reason i didnt put one in my car, even though i purchased from a dealer too and ended up selling it).

Just checked the original invoice and its there in black and white Ram air filter £46 fitted by Subaru!!

Right then a new airfilter needed. Any ideas outside of the Sti filter? What about induction kits etc.

There is no recommended kit for the MY99+ as a direct replacement (except the STi filter which is approved by STi)
