I have a MY99 STi V Type R, and will be fitting a Knock Link this weekend. I run the Car on Optimax, and NF octane booster - I want to change the standard exhaust for a decent quality Jap system (more than likely a blitz Nur Spec one). Am i best to get the Nur Spec R and replace the centre section, or just the Nur spec (leaving the centre section in?) I don't want to do anything that will knacker the engine!!!
I will eventually get a remap for the car to make it extra safe - but don't want to do this until I have at least bought (if not fitted!) The other parts i want (so I can get it mapped for decat, induction etc).

Center section shouldn't cause you any problems.

Backbox and centre should be fine as the centre is straight through as std..

If you go Induction and /or downpipe, get a remap of some sort...
