my mate wants to sell me his revolution exhaust system, it doesnt include the downpipe, will this break my car??

If it doesn't include the downpipe then you will just be getting a (Magnex) backbox and centre section which will add little in terms of power gain, so I wouldn't worry.

When you say my97 wrx, does that mean a my97 turbo (euro model) or my97 wrx (jap import)? Makes a suprising difference...

The Revolution system is made by Jetex by the way.
With or without downpipe, it is very unlikey to cause any problems. The downpipe will release extra horses, the rest of the system will mostly add noise.

all revolution systems ive seen are 3 inch straight through ,your dp will more than likely have a 2.5 inch flange so i would check that before you buy

I have the full decat revolution on my my97 uk, and it does make a difference in power, raises boost by about 0.5 - 1 psi, but drives better...
