Question

Just had a call from a workmate with a MY00 Wagon.

He was cruising down an A road when the engines power delivery went all lumpy then he lost all boost. He said it was just like driving a normally aspirated 2.0 litre.

He pulled up at the next safe place and called out Subaru Assistance. On arrival they tried the car and everything is working OK again.

Any one got any idea? I thought perhaps the waste gate or dump valve sticking but he said the engine went lumpy at low revs so not a lot of boost. If it was a Maf sensor failure or something similar he wouldn't have been able to drive it like a N/A car would he?

Thanks in advance,
Lee
