Question

I'm trying to find the same thing out let me know if you get anywhere. Got a 52 WRX too, running a K&N panel at the mo but keen to get a proper induction kit. Do you have the part number for the K&N kit for our car as I can't find it listed, only those for earlier models??

With regard to the fragile MAF sensor, the 57i is probably the safest around other than the OE.
The 57i will release one or two sounds to please the ear aswell

Question

What about on an STi8, I was thinking about one but everyone said to get a panel filter?

I just got a TSL center section and back box fitted so I am looking to improve the breathing to complement the exhaust.

I just checked the k and n website and there is a 57i Gen 2 induction kit that has just come out.

Anyone got this? pluses/minuses? Cost?

Does an induction kit make a VTA dump valve louder?

Induction kit makes the car much noiser than with the OEM air box and pan filter. I want to fit one to my RB5, but am worried about ******** the MAF up. Apparently there are two types, the film type (as fitted to the later cars) and the hot wire type. Been told the film ones break with an induction kit ?? Can I fit a hot wire one to my MY99 ? I've also been told the K and N one is the best ??

Thanks Phill

Unhappy

Have any of you tried the HKS Racing Suction kit?? I really don't like the 57i kit, because K&N filters is worthless without oil in the filter and if you use oil in it, you can be sure to have a failing airflow meter pretty fast :-(

Have just fitted the K&N Induction Kit to my 95 Turbo, quite pleased with it, sounds like a dump valve when I let of the throttle, really hear it sucking above 2k Revs, 4k - then she's really sucking. Just fitted a OMP Group N de-cat system (Demon Tweeks-£200) as well, didnt think the £600 + for an exhaust is really worth it. Will probably change the down pipe when funds allow though . . just the Dump Valve now . .

I went through 3 mafs with a Pipercross, a mate had 3 go with a HKS and another friend had 4 or 5 go with a Blitz.

All 3 cars are MY99/00 STi's (film type).
