I have an Impreza MY99 with the following modifications:

PPP
SS downpipe
SS centre pipe
SS backbox
ITG Air Panel

Wants to know if the changes Prodrive ECU to Tek 2 is a waste of money.

I have read some post in which is secured that with my modifications the TEK2 reaches the power of 270 and until the 280 hp.

But also I have seen some dynos ( only two ) where also PPP with an uprated downpipe it reaches the 270 hp.

http://dyno.scoobynet.co.uk/uk/bash_nazir.htm
http://dyno.scoobynet.co.uk/uk/big_goon.htm

It would like me have opinions of peoples that changed Prodrive ECU to Tek 2, wants to know before inverting money again if the change is notorious

Thanks

Don't bother changing IMHO. You might get a bit more by adding a Dawes manual boost controller or getting custom mapping (but even then I think your setup will be pretty near). However to progress things much further you will have to change the turbo. I don't think rollers are accurate enough to tell the small difference between different cars on different days - most of the decat remapped setups produce somewhere between 260 and 280 BHP at PE.

Red face

We are going way off topic, but the poor guy has done a good first post with good technical content! If you look at the sentence structure and grammar it is obvious that he has better vocabulary than a lot of native English speakers, and phrases things in a perfectly understandable way, with intelligent structure. The construction looks just like someone who does not speak English as their first language to me and would not have given it a second thought! Welcome to the board m8 anyway, suspect Danger Mouse was only joking.

Since this now seems to be about spelling ...
an ignorant get
That might be "git" (yes, I know...)

But to answer the question... JohnB is right, don't waste your money I'd say in this case. You might not feel a difference.

That in no way is a dig at Ecutek, it just means you wouldn't feel much difference between your PPP and the standard Tek map.

So yup, turbo is next I'm afraid

PS: DM... that's about the first time I saw JB slightly upset on these forums... well done I suppose

Some nice soul did a comparison with a PPP VS TEK 2.5 thus with breathing and exhaust mods similar to yours Mr Davidmartin (Ola):

50-80mph 50-80mph
PPP TEK
3rd=6s 3rd=5s
4th=7s 4th=5s
5th=10s 5th=11s

80-100mph 80-100mph
PPP Tek
4th=5s 4th=5s
5th=7s 5th=5s

Not a super accurate test but a rough guide to an improvement (although not a TEK 2 comparison). Just check this out against a PPP STI7 eh?
