I was just reading another thread that mentioned "the dreaded hesitation". can anyone explain this problem to me in detail. It sounds like i might have the same problem but i'm not sure of exact problem or how to sort it. Anybody got any ideas?

Hovering around the atmospheric point in the inlet, the MAF has a lot of turbulence & can't 'judge' the volume of air passing it very well. So the cause is the combination of metering system & cack air inlet path; the solution is to remove one or the other of these! Unfortunately, that means either a non-MAF dependant ECU, or replacing the air inlet system (also expensive).
The Tek2, I believe (and possible Tek1?) supresses this quite a bit, but not entirely!
The usual 'solution' is to try to drive round it - it is possible...

the motor is already running on a zero sport ecu. not sure if that is non-maf but i doubt it. can you recommend any particular change to the air flow path?
Thanks for the help so far anyway.
