Reflashing ECU ....
it was something like this:
I have read the following (by Trey Cobb):
http://www.wrxforum.com/cgi-bin/ulti...c;f=1;t=000007
since Cobb have come out with their own reflashing technology for the WRX ECU, does this 100 reflash limit also apply to the ECUTEK technology
I have read the following (by Trey Cobb):
The stock ECU can handle approximately 100 reflashes. After that, you will be forced to purchase a new ECU if you wish to continue reflashing. There is not enough spare internal memory to the stock ECU to store a backup. However, there are functions we process during the reflashing procedure that gives us feedback as to the “health” of the ECU. As the ECU’s health starts to decline, you will be presented with an error message/warning so you know you are reaching the lifespan of the ECU’s internal media.

Yes, having spent two afternoons getting my first STi UK to where I wanted it, I used 11 flashes of the ECU, so that still leaves lots spare

A lot
For all the consumers so far the number of reflashes has not been an issue. Since Ecutek tools are not aimed at end users then this tends to work OK. Yes it is limitation, but it is made up for in other ways.
