As John suggests, have you checked the Lmabda sensor is correctly plugged back in..
I believe a disconnected one would increase the fuel consumption.

As jameswrx says the lambda is not on the downpipe on a 93.
I have used about half a tank of juice for only 20 odd miles.
The car is running ok and the cel is not on.

I have just fitted a turbo back Magnex on my STi V3, down pipe, decat centre, back box, and my consumption is realy worse compared to the STi system, noticeably so, not half a tank /20 miles bad, but much worse, AND I was driving sensibly(it's my age). Not at all sure if it goes any better either, but great noise!
Going to PE to have a EcuTek fitted, Mervyn says he will sort it all out (overboost)and give me 315+ bhp. It will be worth the fuel then!

Since my downpipe went on the fuel consumption when I used the loud
pedal lots is worse... but if I drive balancing a coffee on the dashboard the consumption is better..
Although the coffee hasn't last a full tank of fuel yet to be sure and confirm this...
do you have any fault codes?
