Can anyone please tell me what's wrong with my Impreza? 
I've got a UK MY99 and ever since having it, the enigine wasn't the quietest on idle, always a bit 'Ticky'(Like tappits) was told this could've been caused by the last owner running it low on oil?
Anyroad, just been out to a mates and back 4mile round trip, when I got home the tappit sound now has one larger Tick sound. Really doesn't sound healthy at all!
Not very mechanically minded but if anyone can help me out it'd be much appreciated....
Runs ok but sound like a Mk 3 Fiesta!

Is it defo the engine ? if it is there is a thread somewhere about a common manufacturing problem with noisy valves. It could be the boost solenoid too tho but thats on a suspension pillar on the drivers side.
