Is my car poorly?

Hoping someone could help on this issue.
Over the weekend my STI UK developed a nasty kind of tappety rattle, at first I thought it was a heat sheild or something, but it actually comes from the engine.
The car has covered 14,000miles and has plenty of oil in, what can the problem be and should I get Subaru Assist to come and collect it?

Similar prob today, thought needed new engine, down to the dealer to be made to look a complete weapon, turned out to be a bolt swinging in the engine bay, very obvious. Something it was attached to had broken, £10 to replace....
Dealers spotted this within 10 secs!!!!!
really did sound terminal.
