I seem to have developed a boost problem. About 2 weeks ago on my way to work my car wouldnt boost above 0.6 bar. At lunch time the boost was back to 1 bar.

Tonight, on my way home the same problem - only 0.6 bar. I stopped the car and turned the engine off then started again after a few seconds. The boost was back to 1 bar again!! Any ideas what this could be?????

It sounds like an ECU problem to me - what do you think??

I have just disconnected the battery to try and reset the ECU.

The tank was almost empty but I dont think it is a fueling problem.

Cheers

Ed

could possibly be the ecu going into safety mode?

have you got a check engine light coming up?

what mods do you have?

if it is an ecu safety mode thats causing your 0.6bar then I'm sure it's caused by the ecu sensing a problem with something on the car malfunctioning, it goes into a safety or limp home mode when a problem is dettected that could be detremntal to the engine i believe hence the lower boost for safety.

normally if the car goes into limp mode it will store a cel code which can be read off via the plugs as you may know.
i'm sure this won't be visable now as you've just reset the ecu and i'm pretty sure that resets the error codes stored on it, if this is the case then you'll have to drive as normal until the problem comes back, then switch off connect the plugs and see if an fault has been detected by the ecu, thats the best place to start the search for your problem i think.

i'm no expert on this and can only offer guidence towards trying what i said, i'm sure if i'm wrong someone else will soon tell you

Reading a few other threads has brought something else to mind. Both times when it happened were with an almost empty tank and coming out of very tight right hand bends onto a long straight (ie ideal for flooring it!!). I have never noticed it before but i have just moved house and my new journey to work involves fast backroads with lots of tight corners. Will keep an eye on the problem and let you know

Thanks

Ed
