Anyone got any views as to what this might be....
Had timming belt and service approx 7 months ago, small oil leak now developed. Cant see where but do occasionally see oily substance evaporating from the metal pipe right at the front and bottom of the engine, under the pullys, between the radiator and engine. Car is hardly using any oil at all (checking daily) but do notice the usual orible' burning smell usually in slow traffic and not so much after driving reasonably hard. All other 'levels' stay as normal.
Any help please !

Front crank shaft oil seal!

mine went just after the second time the cambelt was changed..

that was 5years and 100k miles when it went..

Cost me £300 including a new cambelt..

Should be changed with the second cambelt, but no dealers seem to know that..

Job involved removing cambelt and cambelt covers and removing old seal and replaced cheap new seal.. new cambelt and refit..

My 98MY 114000 mile saloon had similar problem 3 weeks ago, front crank oil seal was the problem. Local dealer fixed it: Part £4.62 + VAT, labour approx £85 + VAT
